AUSTIN, Texas – Yuri Jang, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Social Work at The University of Texas at Austin, will present at the “Research Brown Bag” Wednesday, Nov. 7, 12:30 p.m.-1:30 p.m. in the school’s Room 2.132.
In her presentation, Dr. Jang will focus on cross-group comparability and measurement equivalence of one of the most popular depressive symptom measures, the Center for Epidemiologic Studies – Depression scale (CES-D).
Since its initial development in the 1970s, the CES-D has been translated into more than 50 different languages and used by researchers and clinicians around the world.
Jang will present her findings on cultural bias in responses to the CES-D items and discuss implications for research and practices.
