Unlimited Possibilities Await Fall 2012 Graduates

AUSTIN, Texas – Dean Luis H. Zayas celebrated the School of Social Work graduates’ success and the unlimited possibilities before them as he presided during the school’s convocation at The University of Texas at Austin Fall Commencement 2012 held Saturday morning, December 8, at the Hogg Auditorium.

Thirty-two candidates for the Bachelor of Social Work degree were recognized by Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Programs and Clinical Associate Professor Vicki Y. Packheiser, LCSW.

Assistant Dean for Master’s Programs and Clinical Professor Jane Kretzschmar, LCSW, called forth seven candidates completing the part-time program to receive the Master of Science in Social Work degree.

SaMone Lanora Ballard, BSW ’12, held the honor of Class Speaker for the ceremony.

New graduates of the Class of 2012 were welcomed as members of the school’s alumni organization, Social Work Alumni Network (SWAN), by Austin Chapter representative Hannah H. Gibson-Moore, LMSW, a 2008 graduate of the MSSW Program.

A reception in the School of Social Work for graduates and their family and friends immediately followed the ceremony.
