Hospital Simulation Day
8am – 5pm
Monday, November 24
Tuesday, November 25
School of Nursing, 4th floor Sim Lab Area
The School of Social Work is joinining the School of Nursing in staging a Hospital Simulation (Sim) Day exercise. During this exercise, students, outfitted with a variety of simulated wounds, IV’s, and monitors will serve as patients for undergraduate social work and nursing students, who will be presented with an evolving patient care environment. Dynamic scenarios will test the students’ abilities to react on their feet, cope with real-world situations, and apply critical thinking skills.
The public is invited to “visiting hours” to observe teaching methods and students engaged in experiential learning. Upon arrival, visitors will be oriented to the hospital simulation activity and in small groups will be able to directly observe social work and nursing students in action.
