MSSW/MPH

Student Activities CenterThe MSSW/MPH dual degree program combines social work and public health education using an interdisciplinary perspective, for careers in health-related communities working toward solving crucial public health and social problems.

The MPH degree is widely recognized as valuable supplemental training for professionals, such as social workers, pursuing careers in health-related fields. In addition, skills learned in public health core disciplines, such as biostatistics, epidemiology, health administration and others, are essential for persons conducting clinical or community-based research or those involved with health services organizations.

MSSW/MPH Program Options

There are 4 program options for the MSSW/MPH dual degree.

  • 3 Year Full-time Program
  • Post BSW Track 42 Hour Program (Spring Admission)
  • Post BSW Track 42 Hour Program (Summer Admission)
  • Post BSW Track 48 Hour Program

Application to the Dual Degree Program (MSSW/MPH)

In addition to all of the materials required for admission to the MSSW program, applicants to the MSSW/MPH dual degree program must also apply and be accepted to the UT Health School of Public Health for the Master of Public Health.
